Function Key Informational Screens
The function keys [F2] through [F12] may be used to display
informational files. This function is extremely useful when
the same program is used by several or even many users by
accessing from a network, as a company data-base or in-house
telephone directory.

These files are displayed 10 lines at a time. Although the
program does not display headers or do pagination, the info
files can appear to have these features by cleverly editing the
text file. Take a look at this file, F2.DAT, with a text
editor, as an example, to see how this is done.

The filenames used for these files are F2.DAT through F12.DAT.
The program has a Small Screen mode, which is toggled on and off
with the [TAB] key. When the program is in small screen mode and
a function key is selected, the program will try and display

F2.SML through F12.SML first. If a .SML file does not exist, the
program will then look for a corresponding .DAT file. If one is
found, the program switches back to full screen mode and then
displays it. (The [F1] key displays the HELP.DAT and HELP.SML
files.)
